As the country starts to emerge from Omnicron, women find their way to whatever normal is in 2022. Melissa Wildermuth knows where she fits: in the middle.
"When I close my eyes and think of women leaders, we’re all walking bravely forward and we’ve got a hand reaching back pulling someone up beside us. I very much believe that an important part of my job, and my life, is to help the person behind me — the recently promoted manager, the new mom, the junior associate with a dream, my daughters. This actually comes pretty easily to me because I’m built, like a lot of women, as a nurturer, a cheerleader, a mentor. But people at times I have forgotten about, the people I know at all times I haven’t valued enough — are the women who walk alongside me, my peers, the women who are with me in the middle.
