Smartly, a platform developing AI solutions for brands around the world, recently led discussions on this very topic in Singapore as well as at Cannes Lions last month. Laura Desmond, Smartly CEO, joins me now with more. Laura, it’s great to have you on the show this morning. Joining us from Chicago, the Midwest, we like to see it. What are your biggest takeaways from your recent event in Singapore?


Well, thanks Kristen. It’s great to be with you. My biggest takeaway is APAC is moving really fast. They’ve always been an early adopter to mobile, to social, to commerce. And now with AI, they’re using it to embrace a way to drive more efficiency, more productivity, but also to unlock growth with creative scaling and more personalization to the local markets that really shape this diverse region.


How is Smartly your firm leading change across advertising in this industry, Laura?


So, we’re really focused on solving some of the most complex problems in the advertising industry. The last 20 years of digital transformation, the mobile era, and all of the different fragmented media types has really led to a complex array of partners and technology needs for brands and advertisers. Our focus is to take a lot of the pain and a lot of the complexity out of this system and put the focus back on brands and advertisers who need to connect to consumers with more creative agility, faster technology that allows them to shift dollars in real time to reach audiences not just with traditional metrics like reach and frequency, but also how to command attention with people—with consumers—across the entire funnel.
