Insider released its sixth annual list of the world's most innovative CMOs in June 2021.

With the average chief marketing officer tenure slipping to 40 months — the lowest it's been since 2009 — being a CMO in 2021 was no easy feat.


When the pandemic hit, Hiranaga overhauled General Mills' marketing with a focus on ecommerce.


With the use of air fryers and grills up, Pillsbury dialed up content showing people how to use them to make its products like crescent rolls and pizza. Betty Crocker, meanwhile, posted recipes that catered to different cooking experience levels.
